Catalyst - Crop Residue Treatment

Untreated Field

As hybrid crops continue to be engineered stronger and stronger, it takes longer for the crop residue to break down into the soil.   Next year's planting may be deprived of the benefit of no-till farming, resulting in the need for additional chemical fertilizers.  Catalyst offers a natural alternative to accelerate the breakdown of the crop residue returning nutrients to the land.

Catalyst contains many different microorganisms that have been selected to accelerate the breakdown of organic matter and crop residue.   Catalyst uses over 65 different strains of bacteria and fungi.   Catalyst uses process’ that currently exist organically in nature.   Microscopic fungi aggressively attack the outside of the crop fibers.  Strains of fungi and bacteria continue to breakdown the internal complex compounds of the fiber molecules to simpler sugars.  The sugars are then utilized by other groups of microorganisms to generate organic acids that are sequestered by photosynthetic bacteria and fed to living plants during the growing season.

Application Directions

To breakdown crop residues in the Fall and/or Spring, use 1-2 quarts of Catalyst per acre, added to fertilizer or water.
