BioSun Renew

BioSun RENEW is intended to purify both water and sediment of lakes and ponds with immobilized photosynthetic bacteria. RENEW operates on an eco-friendly principle in which the photosynthetic bacteria immobilized in the media are gradually released from the sediment of the lake and eliminate contaminants and bad odors.

RENEW is a proprietary mixture of multiple strains of photosynthetic bacteria that utilize sunlight to anaerobically convert nutrients to cells, designed to purify ponds, rivers, streams oxidation ditches and waste lagoons. Renew uses light energy to oxidize hydrogen sulfide and consume organic acids, resulting in the lowering of chemical and biochemical oxygen demand.

RENEW is derived from soil Rhodobacter Sp. classified into purple non-sulfur bacteria which are characterized by excellent organic matter decomposition and salt tolerance.

Photosynthetic bacteria have the superior ability to remove odor causing ingredients (ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, mercaptan, ets.) from the sediment of lakes and decompose pollutant including short chain fatty acid. Since they maintain microbial activity independent of the presence of dissolved oxygen, they can decompose organic matter and odor ingredients around the sediment.

By virtue of somewhat higher specific gravity than that of water, microbial cultures run along water streams and go down onto the bottom where pollutants have been accumulating. Afterwards, photosynthetic bacteria are gradually released into the water, and and subsequently, decompose odor ingredients and pollutants. Because RENEW is highly concentrated, it is very cost-effective and purification can occur over two weeks to one month depending on the polluted condition of the sediment.
